Vata represents space and air and it manages respiration, movement and blood circulation. Pitta is a sign of fire and water and is accountable for digestion and various other metabolic functions. Kapha stands for earth and water and is responsible for structure and nutrition of the body.
Balance between all the 3 doshas represents perfect health and doshic inequality lead to poor health.
