These yoga asanas will let you manage arthritis symptoms:
Veerbhadrasana or Warrior pose

Vrikshasana or Tree pose
- Strengthens the back and legs.

This asana is not advised for people suffering migraine or high blood pressure.
Marjariasana or Cat stretch

Setubandhasana or Bridge pose
- Stretches the spine, chest and neck.
- Strengthens the back muscles.
Setubandhasana helps in relieving back pain. It is quite effective for treating symptoms of osteoporosis.
Spondylitis- it is a term that refers to auto-inflammatory arthritis in the spine, generally present in the spinal joints or vertebrae. Though the condition is quite rare, the most common form of Spondylosis is ankylosing spondylitis. This form of spondylitis can cause stiffness and intense pain in the lower back. It is quite important for spondylitis patients that they remain active, so it slows down the disease and prevents swollen spinal bones from blending together that make maintaining a normal posture, standing and walking quite difficult.
Yoga can be ideal exercise option for spondylitis patients since it eases the painful symptoms and enhances the flexibility of the spine. Moreover, owing to the relaxation techniques which are a part of yoga class, this type of exercise may benefit spondylitis patients by relieving apprehension of their condition.
Three yoga poses that help reduce spondylitis pain:
Child pose
Initiate by sitting on the heels with knees on to the floor. Slowly lower the face forward until the forehead touches the floor, with arms extended at each sides and palms facing upward. Press the chest towards the thighs and hold the position for few seconds. Now slowly return to the starting position.
Cow pose
Start off with the hands and knees with head facing down and back held straight such as a tabletop. Whilst breathing in, lift up the head and chest facing forward, concurrently dip the stomach towards the floor. Now breathe out and slowly return to the starting position.
Cobra pose
Lie facing downward direction with the stomach on the floor, legs stretched out and hands held palms down on the floor under the shoulders. Elbows must hug the body. Lightly press the pelvic area to the ground, breathe in and lift up the head and chest off the floor whilst keeping the lower ribs on to the floor. Straighten up the arms as the body comfortably allows. Hold the pose for few seconds, now breathe out and slowly lower the upper body to the floor.
